Eat Yuanxiao
As a food, Yuanxiao (Filled round balls made of glutinous rice-flour for Lantern Festival) has a long history in China. It was first called “Fuyuanzi” and later called “Yuanxiao. Businessmen also called it “Yuanbao”. The “rolling” Yuanxiao in the north and the “wrapping” rice dumpling in the south are both meant to be reunited, symbolizing the happiness of family reunion and annual reunion.
